I have been making jewellery by hand for more than 30 years, setting opals full time for the past 15 years and cutting & polishing opals for the past 13 years. This course covers all that I have learned about setting opals as a result of trial and error, through giving things a go and seeing what works best. I am passionate about opal and sharing my knowledge. I have been involved in all aspects of opal mining at White Cliffs, Yowah and Koroit. I have also been underground in Lightning Ridge and Opalton. I have worked with all forms of opal. I have read every book I could find about opal, every article & scientific paper that came my way. In 2019 I was contracted by Cody Opal, leaders in opal education, to assist in the completion
of their master sets, a reference set featuring actual examples of all forms of opal, categorisation and grading. I have set opals for thousands of happy customers!
